Phippen has performed at the biennial conferences of the International Native American Flute Association (INAFA) since 2001. His educational and entertaining program covers the folklore and history of flutes from around the world and throughout time.

Phippen is a frequent performer and lecturer at universities, schools, museums, festivals, and conventions throughout the United States. Since then, he has released four CDs, which has attracted the attention of critics and flute enthusiasts worldwide. His connection to these instruments was formed when a friend gave him his first flute, an Indian Bansuri. Phippen began playing, collecting, and researching world flutes in 1987. An innovative performer of flutes of the world, Peter Phippen will present a concert at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC) in Ephraim on October 2 at 7 pm.
